New to the lifestyle!
Hello, I am in my late 30’s and have been with my wife for a little over 10 years. In recent months we have discovered the DOM/SUB relationship. Through opening a dialog we have been enlightened on to why things in our relationship were the way they were, and what it was all about. Until recently we had no idea that we had been D/S all along.
I would like to think of myself as a “nice guy” and the idea of taking control and giving orders always sat wrong with me. I was always about what she wants and what makes her happy. Imagine my surprise when We finally figured out that what she wants is to please me. we spend hours talking and exploring in order to establish boundarys. Being new to the lifestyle, especially being a long time married couple, can make this journey a bit treacherous. I am looking forward to exploring the wealth of information here.

I love that through proper communication you two have begun to see each other more clearly.
You may find that being the leader is consistent with being a ‘nice guy.’ The two are synonymous… Dominance truly is about being a gentleman…
Also, for myself, being in control doesnt have anything to do with giving orders. I am in control much of my life but I seldom give orders, I make decisions. As the leader I often solicit others view points and then use my own perspective and experience to make sound decisions.
I only bring this up in your intro because I believe that I felt much like you into beginning of my journey. I couldn’t find any other information that helped me find resolution with my concerns.
