Hello Mr Fox and all,
I have recently found myself in a situation where I feel I could use some expert guidance and this seems to be a great place to start.
I have been talking with a potential partner who has disclosed to me that she is a trained submissive with a liking for pain. I found this very intriguing and after a little reading on the Internet I now find it exciting. I am however worried about a few things and could really use some advice.
Firstly, from reading some articles I have seen there are cases where potential doms can take directing subs too far and become domineering in everyday life. Are there any tips you can give to see the signs of this to ensure you only give care to your sub?
Secondly, what are some good starting points to introduce me to successfully directing in the bedroom to make sure a sub is fulfilled?
To give some background my usual relationships have been very tame with vibrators being the limit of experimentation so any and all advice is welcome.

Please understand that your questions are very general and almost impossible to answer directly.
Ds relationships are personal and require a lot of work. I would begin by researching the lifestyle to see if you can come up with what really interests you and your potential submissive. It takes a lot of work to accomplish what you desire. Begin by reading the blog posts from the beginning to date. Then progress to the forum and begin asking questions on the chat. There is a wealth of information lurking on the chat that you can potentially tap into.
