  Fenth' introduction

  Hi everyone,

  First, please excuse any languages mistakes as English is not my first language.
  We are a loving, happily married couple (for 12 years with now a wonderful kid aged 6). I had already tried a few times in the past to bring my wife into D/s play but I lacked consistency and did not communicate enough. In the end, let’s say I was pretty unsuccesfull (we still had great fun though).

  I was already in the process of trying to find out what I was doing wrong when I found this site a few days ago… To say it felt like a revelation is an understatement. I think the pieces were already there but I was unable to complete the puzzle.

  To make things short (or rather not too long), I decided to man up a bit. Yesterday, kiddy was away and we had planned to go to the restaurant. So, I opened the conversation on the subject, being as honest as possible in describing my feelings, what I would be expecting from her, what I would be providing. She listened to me for at least 10 minutes without saying a word. When I had finished, she just said: “I have trust in you and I love you so I agree.” (and we continued to discuss the whole evening)

  So, that’s my story so far but I feel it’s just the real beginning.

  Again, I would like to most sincerely thank the contributors of this site and especially Mr. Fox. You already have been of great help.

  Thanks for the comment Mr Fox.
  Indeed… Though I had the feeling she would not be outright negative about it, I wasn’t expecting such a display of trust and love! It felt overwhelming and intoxicating…
  Even if we do not “succeed” (for lack of a better word here) on our path to D/s-M, the values associated with the lifestyle (Trust,Honesty, Communication, Respect Love…) certainly won’t be lost for me.
  They should in fact be the foundations of every wedding and I probably lost track a bit on some of them (communication and honesty)
  I now plan to make sure it never happens again.

    You have been doing a lot of reading as you have recalled them all… including love…

    You are correct when you say that these fundamentals should be the foundation of every marriage or even every relationship. If people strive to achieve and succeed at these characteristics then they will not fail. Their journey may not continue as D/s but they will never fail.
