I will be married on Saturday and will be flying to Fiji on Sunday where I and my love will spend 10 days on a little island resort called Matamanoa.
W/we’re faced with the perplexing task of what toys to take with us -W/we’re going to risk the incredulous stares of customs officers should they open the luggage… After all, they won’t know U/us. Clearly, items such as needles are out 🙁 but W/we’re still slightly stumped as what to take.
Which brings me to the question… What would you take if you were marooned on a desert island with your sub?

I know you will have fun!
Well, when we went to vegas I brought along my squirt stick, a cane and rope. I also knew I was going to a sex shop, so I would have more to play with while I was there.
My first thought to you though is not to bring them on, in your carry-on as you probably don’t want them whipping out a 9 inch dildo.
I chose these three items because I can use other materials for blindfolds in my hotel room, and even use the pillow cases and sheets for bondage.
I hope this helps a little,

Lol, yes, not in carry on luggage. W/we’ll be taking wand, cane, floggers, rope, collars…

Congratulations to you and yours… You two are going to have a wonderful time in Fiji I am sure.
I have been asked this question on several occasions…
Do not carry anything in your carry on luggage that you do not want to be displayed and presented in front of you and your submissive, TSA, Customs, airport employees and complete strangers and so on. Most would never do that to anyone BUT it does happen.
I have known other Dominants to ship their toys to the hotel a few days in advance. Almost every respectable hotel will accept a shipped package prior to your arrival and set it aside.
I personally pack my toys in a separate suitcase and check it as luggage with the airline. However, I must admit that two years ago while traveling to Las Vegas for our first gathering of the warren event, one suitcase didn’t make it at all to our destination and my toy suitcase arrived in baggage claim with a broken zipper and everything imaginable hanging out of it.
Additionally, I wouldn’t suspect that needles in your checked luggage would be an issue at all.
The wand would have to most definitely go… And for us in the US traveling abroad I would be sure that everyone remembered to obtain the appropriate electrical adapters. Traveling from Australia I am not sure if you would require any adapters but it is a consideration.
I say take what you want… and have fun!

Thank you for your feed back Mr Fix. Fortunately, Fiji uses Australian standard plugs and current so no issues there.
The issues I see with needles is basically to do with assumption that W/we’re drug users if found at customs etc. I’m not sure I want either of U/us having to squat and cough… 😉
I’m thinking a few scalpels in checked luggage is probably doable though.

I am not that familiar with needle play. I was assuming that you used solid stainless steel needles of some sort and not an actual hypodermic needle. You can purchase hypodermic needles everywhere I believe…

Lol – not on O/our island… And I suspect that the transfer might be a little put out if W/we stopped at a chemist…
I really should put a post in tools of the trad shouldn’t i? 😉

I am that naive about these things I guess… I wold have thought that hypodermic needles were common as I thought that they would be used for many legitimate vanilla things such as for diabetics.
Anyway… Have a wonderful time and congratulations…

Congrats to you both. I am in a similar situation as we are moving back to the states shortly and will only have our checked and carry on baggage to live out of for a few months.
I would recommend only bringing the things you can’t improvise with and must have (i.e. Wand, lube, cleaning wipes). Most other things can be found right in your hotel room. For example, need a paddle? How about the shoe horn often found in the hotel closet. Tape, zip ties, and cotton clothesline is cheap and if it is lost it won’t cause issue. If you are bringing any leather cuffs or collars I would say put those in your carry-on as they are hard/expensive to replace. Found toys in the hotel room or local stores can be a lot of fun.

Well, W/we’ve returned from being marooned on a desert island (which was great). I ended up taking pretty much everything except scalpels and needles. As discussed earlier in the thread there was no issue with the checked luggage. I was stopped three times for the carry on luggage as a result of the new play collar I had bought my love.
I followed Mr Stone’s advice and had my love’s collars with U/us – particularly as they have special meaning. I had bought a new, very heavy stainless steel locking collar which excited people x-raying the luggage in three of the four air ports W/we went through…
The security officer in Adelaide didn’t blink when I told him it was a BDSM slave collar although he sounded envious when he said he had not had the opportunity to experience such things…
The person in Melbourne wasn’t interested beyond making sure it was safe.
The Fijian security officer looked confused and asked what I would want something like that for as I showed her how it fitted… Her voice died away towards the end of the sentence though…
So W/we’re back now and recovering from O/our holiday. I look forward to catching up with everyone.
