International Fetish Day
International Fetish Day was brought into existence January 16, 2009. It was established as a day to recognize and support the BDSM community. International Fetish Day was also intended to encourage members of the lifestyle to be more open regarding their sexuality. Since its inception people from all over the world have come together to celebrate not only our differences but also to celebrate our similarities within the lifestyle.
Since our Dominance and submission culture is so tightly join to BDSM it only seems appropriate that we celebrate the day as well.
Perverts Wear Purple
It has become tradition that on International Fetish Day members of the BDSM community wear purple in an effort to support our culture.
It was by design that members of the BDSM community could participate in this celebration from all over the world and do so while hiding in plain sight. Purple is widely used in many BDSM circles however, wearing purple would not out you and your secret desires to the rest of the vanilla world around us.
There has been some contention and controversy that sounds the slogan, “Perverts Wear Purple”. Many practitioners of the BDSM lifestyle have been separating themselves from the label of ‘pervert’.
Pervert
The word pervert actually means a person whose sexual behavior is regarded as abnormal and unacceptable. The definition of pervert is not abnormal or unacceptable, it is both.
lk, myself and many of our membership have been making great efforts to normalize TTWD, Married Dominance and submission, BDSM, in the eyes of public opinion. I believe that it will take an education process along with a deliberate and consistent message, that will help remove the taboo and stigma that we all currently carry. In the past many practitioners reveled in the mysterious darkness of our lifestyle. Today you can hear lk telling the entire world that she wants to shine a light on us and bring us out of the darkness and into the light.
Wear Purple this Friday January 18, 2019
Join us this year in celebrating our culture and our roots. Participation, by design, allows us to protect our anonymity while publicly displaying our approval and participation in the art. This may also be a fun Dominant Challenge that you can do with your submissives. Give them a simple command to participate. Spice up your expectations of their participation and make it challenging if you wish.
